Description
The Purple Ballad is a Dark Fantasy feature film completed in 2024 with 3 awards for its costumes and special effects.
This is a graduation film directed by Goran Bastasi, with whom I had the pleasure of working to design the designs, the mood board for the film and the costumes; I also participated in the creation of parallax animated segments of the film.
Stella's design presented an additional challenge as it required creating a design based on the actress.
Synopsis:
In a dark, medieval era, Arkane and Stella, two young adults suffering from amnesia, are hunted by a mysterious creature that sows terror and destruction in its wake.
The Crimson Ballad is a Dark fantasy feature film that was finished in 2024 with 3 prizes for its costumes and FX.
It was a graduation film directed by Goran Bastasi, with whom I had the pleasure of working with to design and moodboard the film and costumes, I also participated in creating parallax animated segments throughout the movie.
The design of this character was quite a challenge as I had to design the outfit after the real actress's face and body.

Stella
Stella is one of the main protagonists, her design is based on a person with a noble past who finds herself becoming a mercenary to regain her life and find the person responsible for the murder of her family.
Parallax animations and "Matte Painting" overlays
Throughout the film are animations illustrated under several layers and formatted in parallax.
And to make the film scenes more plausible in terms of fiction and fantasy, several illustrations complementing the background landscapes were embedded in the form of "Matte Painting".
